Tari Indang Bapilin

Also known as Dindin Badindin Dance, is one the famous Minangkabau traditional dances originated from Pariaman, West Sumatra. The purpose of this dance was to spread Islam in West Sumatra, which can be seen and noticed through prophet's prayer or poetry containing the value of Islamic teachings during the performance.

For this dance a group of dancers are needed. The total of it doesn't matter as long it's a group with a odd number (7,9,13 people). Here I recorded the Tari Indang Bapilin, performed by students from Padang State University (Universitas Negeri Padang) where I was invited to watch.
