MBKM- KKN part 3 in Purus, Padang.

For part 3 of my MBKM-KKN video, my teammates and I continued to do our surveys. On Friday, the 2nd of September, we had a meeting with the Head of Tourism Awareness Group and the Secretary of the Community Empowerment Institute.

On Tuesday the 6th of September, we were invited to attend the Tsunami Ready event at Padang’s Mayor’s Office House. The event was opened with a traditional Minangkabau dance and the presentations followed after. The presentations were related of what is already done, should be and could be done before and when the tsunami occurs.

After this event, we sat down with the Head of Tourism Awareness Group and the Secretary of the Community Empowerment Institute to discuss how we can help them or what we can do in this community during our Community Service.

On Wednesday the 7th of September, we attended the North District Office.

Here we sat down, listened carefully and discussed about the Tsunami Ready project that is ongoing.

The week after on Wednesday the 14th of September, we sat together with the Village Head and the Head of the Community Empowerment Institution at a Warung to discuss about our Community Service.

The day after on Thursday the 15th of September, me and my team members had a meeting and discussion whereas we presented our ideas on what we plan on doing and sharing ideas to the members of the community in Purus. After the presentations, questions, comments and ideas were shared.

Wednesday the 21st of September, we were invited to visit a Kindergarten School, Paud Miftahul Ilmi to welcome the Chairwoman of the Team for Empowerment and Family Welfare of Padang City Village/ Ibu ketua Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga Kelurahan Kota Padang. Children were therefore standby to welcome everyone warmheartedly.
